Children of all ages are very welcome at St Peter and St Paul’s Church. During school terms Sunday Club meets in the Octagon during the 10am service, apart from during the monthly All Age Service.
We remain in Church for the first hymn, and then walk together to the front for a prayer. Parents collect their children to take them up to the altar for a blessing during communion.
During our session, we have a Bible story, and discuss the story (and anything else the children wish to raise – we have learned a lot from them!) We follow up with a craft activity connected to the Bible story. We aim to base the session on the same Bible passage as is being read during the main service.
Our children are aged from three upwards. Parents/carers are welcome to stay if they wish, or to leave their children if they are happy to stay. We have been greatly blessed by the older teenagers remaining with us as helpers.
Highlights of the year include the Christmas Nativity Play, with the older children reading; Easter crafts on Good Friday, Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Day and a Sunday Club Summer Party. We have also followed the Christian Aid Count Your Blessings in Lent.
We have been lucky to have the help of one of the parents who is an artist, who has done some art sessions with the children (see picture of Joseph). We have also had some craft sessions which have been led by a member of our congregation.
The safety of your children is important to us and we comply with the Diocese of Guildford Safeguarding Policies.
We look forward to meeting you and your children.
We are excited to have recommenced Sunday Club at St Peter and St Paul’s Church last term and enjoyed the return of some familiar smiley faces.
We have been following the latest Diocese of Guildford guidance, which has meant a number of changes to how we usually run Sunday Club.
Come and join us this Autumn Term!
