Children of all ages are very welcome at St Peter and St Paul’s Church. During school terms Sunday Club meet during the 10am service on the second, third, fourth and fifth Sundays in the Octagon.
During each session there is a Bible story with discussion about the story (and anything else the children wish to raise – there is a lot to learn from them!) This is followed up with a craft activity connected to the Bible story. The aim is to base the session on the same Bible passage as is being read during the main church service.
The children are aged from three upwards. Parents/carers are welcome to stay if they wish, or to leave their children if they are happy to stay. We have been greatly blessed by the older teenagers remaining with us as helpers.
The children join the rest of the church family for a blessing or communion towards the end of the church service.
Highlights of the year include the Christmas Nativity Play, with the older children reading; Easter crafts on Good Friday, Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Day and a Sunday Club Summer Party. We have also followed the Christian Aid Count Your Blessings in Lent.
Sunday Club has been very lucky to have the help of one of the parents who is an artist, who has done some art sessions with the children (see picture of Joseph). They have also had some craft sessions which have been led by a member of our congregation.
On the first Sunday of the month we are out and about at Muddy Church which is great fun!
The safety of your children is important to us and we comply with the Diocese of Guildford Safeguarding Policies.
We look forward to meeting you and your children.
