Music in the Parish of Godalming

St Peter and St Paul’s Church
Music plays an important role in the life of the church, and is at the heart of our Sunday morning worship. A robed choir of adults and children leads the worship at each of the 10am Holy Communion services as well as at other occasional services such as Choral Evensong and the Advent and Christmas Carol Services, directed by our Director of Music, Matthew Greenfield, and accompanied by our Organist, John Belcher.

The church is available for use as a concert venue, and hosts a series of monthly organ recitals on our fine three-manual organ built by William Hill & Son in 1887. We are fortunate to have a ring of eight tower bells which enhance our morning services. The church is also home to the Lammas Handbell Ringers who play a three-octave set of Whitechapel handbells.

Visiting choirs are very welcome to make enquiries about singing for a service at St Peter and St Paul’s Church; please contact the Director of Music mcgreenfield@googlemail.com.
