Don’t believe in God? Given up on church? Want to explore faith? Just curious?
Alpha is a multi-week course that creates a space where people come and discuss life big questions. Whether you’re new to Christianity, just want to brush up on the basics, or are finding out what Christianity is all about for the first time, try Alpha.
What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of interactive talks that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for anyone who’s curious. The talks are designed to encourage conversation and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish.
How does it work?
Alpha is ten talks, with one additional Saturday of three talks from 10am to 4pm. Each session includes an informal supper and a short DVD presentation. There is followed by a discussion about topics raised in the DVD, where you can share your thoughts and questions if you wish, or simply listen. At any point along the course, if you think Alpha isn’t for you, that’s not a problem. There’s no pressure, no follow up and no charge.
Learn more about the Alpha Course
Following the success of our 2021 September course, the recent Alpha Course at St Peter and St Paul’s Church commenced on Wednesday 27th April 2022. The evening starts at 7.30pm with supper together in the Octagon, followed by an opportunity to watch a DVD and to ask any questions you may have.
The next course is in September 2022 at St Mark’s Church.
If you have more questions about the Alpha Course or the Christian faith, why not come along to any one of our Sunday Services and speak with Canon John at St Peter and St Paul’s Church or Reverend Sheila Samuels at St Mark’s Church.
